Our Services

CAAFA addresses domestic abuse from four (4) innovative approaches, which include: Prevention, Intervention, Community Collaboration and Perpetrator Accountability.

CAAFA Direct Services Brochure:

Prevention:
Understanding the dramatic affects domestic abuse has on children, CAAFA has implemented a new Early Education and Prevention Program. Components of the program include: Abuse Prevention Training, Parent/School Community Presentations, Classroom Educational Presentations, Prevention Psychoeducational Groups, Bully Prevention Workshops, Youth Relationship Program, Therapeutic Arts-Based Activity Programs and Informance, which are educational performances.

CAAFA offers training on the dynamics of domestic abuse to interested groups. CAAFA also provides a variety of educational materials and resources for those interested in learning more about domestic abuse.  Community members are encouraged to check out educational materials from CAAFA's comprehensive Resource Library.

Intervention:
Direct services offered to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse include:
Crisis Line
Shelter Services
Advocacy Services
Support Groups
Empowerment Sessions

Community Collaboration
CAAFA's Safe Home Network (CSHN) provides survivors and their children access to safe places and community resources effective in responding to the dynamics of domestic abuse. CSHN builds on the assets of the community while increasing awareness of domestic abuse and improving access to essential resources.

Perpetrator Accountability
CAAFA takes a proactive approach in advocating for increased perpetrator accountability. Most recently, CAAFA was successful in partnering with other community entities to secure funding for the Domestic Violence Court in Apache Junction. This new Court provides increased punishment for perpetrators, while offering more support for victims.

CAAFA provides a toll free crisis line staffed by trained advocates. Advocates provide information, referrals, support and assistance.

Shelter Services
CAAFA assists those affected by domestic abuse by providing a safe, secure and confidential place to stay while recovering from emotional, physical and/or sexual abuse.  CAAFA operates a Safe Home and provides emergency motel stays as needed.

Advocacy Services
CAAFA's trained advocates are available to assist those affected by domestic abuse with identifying and addressing their needs.  Advocates work with individuals and families to set goals that create a self-sufficient life, free of abuse.

Legal Advocacy
CAAFA's Legal Advocacy services can assist victims of domestic abuse with information and education about options and rights within the legal system.  We also assist with safety planning, obtaining and filing an Order of Protection, obtaining divorce and child custody forms, and accompaniment to court for moral support.

Support Groups
CAAFA holds weekly support groups that are facilitated by a trained staff member.  Support Groups offer women and children the opportunity to share experiences; gain perspective and support; and receive education on the dynamics of domestic abuse.

Empowerment Sessions
CAAFA provides one-on-one interaction with a certified therapist.  Empowerment sessions provide individualized support, affirmation, validation, information and education about domestic abuse.
