CAAFA's Safe Home

One way we work toward our vision of creating communities free of domestic abuse is by operating a Safe Home. In October, 2005, we opened a newly constructed Safe Home which has 16 beds and is designed to house women with children and single women in separate areas.

CAAFA understands that transitioning into the Safe Home may be challenging. As such, Advocates work closely with each resident, providing support and empathy.

Once transitioned into the Safe Home, residents develop an Individualized Service Plan. Advocates support Plans by delivering services using empowerment techniques.

Residents meet weekly as a group to learn more about domestic abuse and to discuss group living issues. CAAFA also seeks input from residents about program development during the weekly meetings. Support groups, Empowerment Sessions and other activities are available to residents throughout the week.
